Mobile Audio Industry Veteran Joins Team CMA

Canadian Mobile Audio is proud to announce the addition of our latest team member, Moe Sabourin.

Sabourin joins the CMA team as our new Senior Contributor; his role will focus on creating targeted content that specifically showcases Canadian dealers and installers as well as their achievements and current projects.

With a career that has spanned over 4 decades in the mobile audio industry, Sabourin started his career working for a seven store audio/video  chain in Sudbury (Bianco’s Audio & Video/National Video) and in 1998, went on to open his own shop (Progressive Car Audio in Huntsville, Ontario) and run it until 2004. During his time as Progressive Car Audio, Sabourin and his team built many systems in SEMA vehicles for MBRP (Martin Barkey Racing Products) as well as building numerous SQ and SPL vehicles for competition in IASCA, dB Drag and MECA events. Sabourin’s Ultimate Division Honda Civic would capture 2003 World Record in the idBL Ultimate Division with a score of 173.1 dB.

In 2005, Sabourin would become the North American Director of Operations for IASCA and in 2009, become the Director of Worldwide Operations for IASCA Worldwide. In 2015, he took on a second responsibility, managing Soundcrafters, a 42 year car audio retail business in Daytona Beach, Florida. When IASCA was sold in December 2019, Sabourin decided it was time to return home to contribute to the Canadian car audio industry.

Sabourin recently moved back to Huntsville, Ontario and is excited about to delving back into the Canadian car audio scene with future plans already in the works.  “I hope to leave the industry in a better place than it was when I first started in it over 40 years ago. My personal goal is to help build exposure for Canadian dealers and raise their level of credibility with the general public. I believe that our dealers are underappreciated and need to be seen as the professionals in their market area” said Sabourin.

Sabourin will write articles on dealers, installers and car audio competition events from IASCA and dB Drag. CMA looks forward to Sabourin’s contributions as we move forward together. An initiative that CMA feels is absolutely paramount for the continued growth and development of the Canadian mobile audio industry moving forward.
