Metaldog Machines is run by Kelly Spongberg and wife Andrea Garnier, and they’re very proud to call their shop a “mom and pop tech shop”; as a matter of fact, they own the website called momandpoptechshop.ca!

Before opening Metaldog Machines, Kelly owned a Telus Mobility store for over a decade (also a Pioneer dealer) before going to work for his family’s oilfield company, ultimately opening Metaldog Machines in 2016 and returning to his true love of car audio.

“The stereotypical ‘mom and pop shop’ describes us pretty well” says Spongberg “My wife and I help everyone in our area with technology, from phone repair, computer repair and car audio”

When asked if there was anyone he would like to recognize for their help in getting the business going, Kelly gave a shout out to two people, his son Dallas and Kenwood rep Bill Travis; “I’m truly thankful for Dallas, who worked with me for the first two years of the shop’s life. It was his idea to combine our talents and get this enterprise going and to Bill for giving us support in the early going that made it all possible.”

“The cards and handwritten notes of thanks are always the best” Kelly continued to say, “I’m especially proud of two client builds we’ve created, a 1968 Chevrolet pickup equipped with Kenwood gear and a 1968 Dodge Charger we installed a Retrosound radio and Pioneer speakers into.”
