Dare to Be Rare – Team DeafBonce Audi S4 Avant

When Vasily Mishukov moved to Bolton, Ontario from Russia, he knew that it wouldn’t take long before his passion for custom car building would follow him here. As an avid competitor and former 5-time Russian champion in several different organizations, Vasily’s objectives for his new build were set high…really high. So high in fact, that he would ultimately dedicate his new build on a platform that isn’t even available in Canada or even North America for that matter.

The project began in December of 2017 when Vasily finally found what he was looking for. More specifically, a late model Audi A4 Avant wagon model with a dead engine. The vision was to re-create the tarmac shredding S4 version found in Europe by swapping in a true S4 powertrain. A 3.0L turbocharged V6 engine tuned to output 354 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque.

To fulfill this tedious and expert level task, Vasily turned to TSH Auto to get the new motor installed along with the matching 8-speed transmission rear differential. To boost the performance even further, a Stage 3 performance kit was installed as well as an AirLift Performance Series suspension to lower the stance. With the performance and suspension now setup the way he envisioned it, Vasily moved on to his true motive…the sound.

Vasily chose DeafBonce hardware to make up the bulk of the install. Motivated to showcase the quality and potential of the products, all amplification and speakers are DeafBonce through and through. Build highlights include custom fabricated door panels that house 7x AP M67AN midrange drivers and 4x T35NEO tweeters each. The front soundstage is powered by Doomsday ARU 3000.2 for the mids and a Machete 80.4 for the highs. For the deep end, Vasily chose a single 21” DeafBonce SA 521Neo with 5,000w RMS and 5” coil powered by AAB11800 12,000w amplifier.

Rounding out the system, the S4 boasts an Audison Bit 1 Digital HD Processor to handle all the sources and sound management. The entire system is connected by DeafBonce cables and is highlighted by addressable LED lighting. The entire build has taken over 200 hours to complete and Vasily is proud to say that it was built and installed by himself…With a little help from his friends at 20hz Audio and Security as well!

We commend Vasily on his relentless determination to create a final project that not only is unique, but also showcases his craftsmanship and originality.
